Alpine Shire Council Counts Down to Opening of Myrtleford Splash Park

The Alpine Shire Council is eagerly anticipating the opening of the newly constructed Myrtleford Splash Park, set to welcome visitors in the coming weeks. This community project aims to provide a safe and enjoyable recreational space for residents of all ages.

Construction of the splash park commenced in early 2023, with a focus on incorporating sustainable materials and ensuring accessibility for individuals with disabilities. The facility features a variety of water play areas, shaded seating, and interactive water features designed to engage children and adults alike.

Mayor Jane Smith expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “The Myrtleford Splash Park is a significant addition to our community infrastructure. It offers a place for families to gather, play, and stay active, especially during the warmer months.”

The council conducted extensive community consultations to ensure the splash park meets the needs of local residents. Feedback highlighted the desire for diverse water attractions and ample safety measures, which have been integrated into the final design.

Opening ceremonies are scheduled for May 15th, with planned activities including live music, food stalls, and guided tours of the facility. The council invites all residents to attend and celebrate the completion of this valuable community asset.

  • Location: Myrtleford Central Park
  • Opening Date: May 15, 2024
  • Features: Interactive water zones, shaded areas, accessible facilities
