Arson Squad Investigates Suspicious Bushfire in Port Kennedy

Detectives from the Arson Squad are currently investigating a suspicious bushfire that occurred in Port Kennedy. The incident involved a stolen vehicle that was later abandoned and set ablaze, leading to the bushfire.

The vehicle was reported stolen earlier this week, and authorities have been tracing its whereabouts. It was discovered abandoned in a remote area of Port Kennedy, where it had been ignited, causing significant spread of the fire.

Local fire services responded promptly to the blaze, working to contain it and prevent further damage to the surrounding environment. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was intentionally set, prompting the involvement of the Arson Squad.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses to identify the individual(s) responsible for the arson. The motive behind the theft and subsequent arson remains unclear.

The community has been advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
